Those are words I never expected to hear myself say. Back in the summer of 1992 my wife Dani and I had traveled to South America to adopt five children. All at once. The oldest was 8, the youngest was 2. Life got crazy, to say the least! I woke up early the second-to-last Saturday this February, 1999, shivering. Five days later I was in the hospital with pneumonia. A week after that I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a sort of bone marrow cancer. Life just got crazier. |
